Christmas in April
April 26, 2008

This great annual event helps out a less privileged family or person with much-needed improvements and repair to their home.  This year's house is located on Mill Point Road.  We will be making repairs to the roof and installing a handicap ramp.  We need help stripping the roof on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, in the afternoon.  For more info or to let him know you'll be helping out, call Bob Beverage at 301-769-3499.

Board Meeting/Conference
May 2-3, 2008

The Third Quarter District Board Meeting & Conference will take place at the Carousel Hotel in Ocean City, MD.  Registration is due before April 1 if you would like to attend.  Hotel reservations can be made at the Carousel Hotel, (410) 524-1000.  Be sure to mention MDSD Optimist for special rate.  Contact Kevin Hall (hallkm@md.metrocast.net)or Bubby Norris (oldgoatnorris@aol.com)for registration.
Classic Car Show
April 27th, 2008
On the Square in Leonardtown

The 7th District Optimist Club will hold the Kiddie Tractor Pull at this annual Classic Car Show.  This event runs from 8:00 to 4:00.  A $2 admission fee benefits the Hospice of St. Mary's.  Live entertainment and food available.  Rain date is May 4th.

ACTS (A Community That Shares) is a non-profit organization that helps St. Mary's County residents with hospital-type convalescent equipment for home use.
